Why Is Fundraising So Important?
United Steam Fire Engine No.3 has been answering the call for help since 1845. United has always relied on the generosity of the community it serves for finical help and that continues today. A modern fire department is a multi million dollar business with no true self-established incoming revenue stream short of a tax. The taxes garnered from the county, state and federal assessments that end up budgeted to United only cover a certain percent of the needed budget to keep the lights on, doors opening and staffed apparatus answering the call for help. So like all the volunteer fire departments across the country we relay on our fundraising to make up that deficit.
So without the help of our community supporting our fundraising events we would not be in the position to field the life supporting services we have been over the last 175 years.
